In June 2008 the launching of a regular direct railway route from Moscow's Savelovsky Railway Station to Sheremetyevo and the opening of a new railway-cum-air terminal complex took place. Currently, it takes only 35 minutes to get from central Moscow to the airport. Sheremetyevo still concentrates on boosting the throughput capacity of its passenger terminals. At full pelt is the work on improving a motor road access to the airport. Plans are to build in 2010 a Moscow - St. Petersburg toll highway with a special bend to Sheremetyevo. Currently under way is the reconstruction of Leningrad Highway to provide a traffic light-less passage from Moscow's Red Square to the airport within 30 minutes.
